9. International NEXT Façade Summit – Outstanding architecture in an international context

How can forward-looking building envelopes be designed and realized in an international context? What demands do global construction and façade projects place on architecture, design and technology – and which solutions are crucial today for the façades of tomorrow?

Four renowned experts from leading international architectural offices provide insights into current projects, global developments and innovative approaches.

SPEAKERS

Dr.-Ing. Stefanie Weidner is a member of the Executive Board at Werner Sobek AG in Stuttgart and is responsible for sustainability and research and development. The internationally active group is renowned

for combining architecture, structural engineering and sustainable engineering. Its focus is on innovative, resource-efficient and future-proof solutions that holistically integrate design, construction and sustainability.

Saša Begović is a senior partner and co-founder of 3LHD, and an associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb. This internationally active and multi-award-winning architectural practice

combines architecture, urban planning and design through an interdisciplinary approach. 3LHD’s projects are characterised by a clear formal language, an in-depth engagement with their respective contexts, and

the integration of architectural quality with social and urban issues.

Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Michael Schumacher is one of the owners and managing director of schneider + schumacher in Frankfurt. The multi-award-winning architectural practice takes a holistic approach, combining architecture, urban planning and design with a clear, contemporary design language. In addition to its headquarters in Frankfurt, schneider + schumacher has an international presence with offices in Berlin, Vienna and in Tianjin and Shenzhen, China.

Maura Ambrosiano is Technical Design Leader at Heatherwick Studio in London. This internationally active design and architecture practice is known for its experimental, interdisciplinary approach, which combines

architecture, design and engineering. Heatherwick Studio’s projects are characterised by innovative structures, a strong connection to their respective contexts and a high standard of design quality.
